elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Autumn Mountain Wedding | Frost Creek Golf Club in Eagle

October 16, 2016

This family featured on the blog today is a special one. I’ve now had the opportunity to photograph them on not just one prior wedding but two weddings in the family in the last 3 years. Alyssa’s big sister Ashley was the first to hire me as her wedding photographer for her wedding in Colorado Springs. Last summer their mom, Alexis, held a beautiful, intimate ceremony on the family’s homesteading land in Eagle. And now it’s Alyssa’s turn to get married and I’m so honored that the family trusted me again to capture this special day in their lives. I just looked back at Ashley’s wedding sneak peek which was the first one I photographed for the family and it’s so fun to see how much everyone close to the family has changed in just a few short years.

Steven and Alyssa hosted their wedding at the stunning Frost Creek Mountain Club in Eagle, Colorado. It has to easily be one of the prettiest places I’ve photographed in all of Colorado. The fall color was going strong with gorgeous reds, yellows, and greens and the blue of the mountains off in the distance making it feel like we had all stepped inside a pretty painting. It was a beautiful sunny day too making it perfect for their outdoor ceremony on the lawn. There were a lot of nice touches at the wedding including a sweet tree ceremony during the wedding celebration (that the wind did not knock over thankfully!), delicious food stations instead of a big buffet so that guests could wander around filling their plate with lots of different choices, and a crazy fun and packed dance floor. I have to give mad props to Alyssa grandmother who had no problem partying down on that dance floor! I loved seeing that big smile on her face as she danced with various family members. Not many venues in Colorado allow sparkler exits but Frost Creek did so we were even able to capture a fun exit photo for Steven and Alyssa.

To the whole Kenyon/Miller/Kensinger/Hendricks clan,
Thank you for trusting me yet again! You guys are the best and I love photographing your family. Congratulations, Alyssa and Steve!

Take a look at the WEDDINGS area of my site to find more information about wedding photography and get in touch to tell me about yours!
