elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Winter Family Photography | Snowy Holiday Pictures at Mount Falcon

November 28, 2015

I just finished photographing my first snow session of the season! I have a bit of a love hate relationship with photographing outside in the cold. Mostly the downside is that I’m a big weenie about being cold. But, sometimes when the snow is freshly falling and it’s a gorgeous white winter wonderland outside you just have to put on three pairs of socks, your snowboard pants, bring the hand warmers just in case and go for it. I got so lucky that the family featured on the blog today chose me to photograph their family photos. Their big brother was visiting from Los Angeles so it was a rare opportunity for all of them to be in one place and get their pictures created. I say I’m lucky because they were so much fun to be around. There was lots of laughing and good-natured ribbing and I was really impressed with what good sports they were about being out in the cold. We met up at the Mount Falcon Trailhead in Morrison because the views of Red Rocks in the distance look really nice. With the snow covering the huge red jagged rocks it looked even more impressive than usual. Here is just a small sample of the sweet and happy family photos we made together that day.

Be sure to take a look at the FAMILIES section of my site to find information about pricing, FAQs and booking information!
