elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Autumn Engagement Photography in Colorado | Lily Lake, Estes Park

October 12, 2015

Yay, I am finally getting around to blogging about this great couple who I photographed about a month ago up at Lily Lake in Estes Park, Colorado. Kim and Jack brought their gigantic, adorable doggies with them before we realized that Lily Lake actually doesn’t really allow dogs beyond the front entrance and parking area. Oops! Colorado is usually so dog-friendly that I didn’t even think to check if they were allowed there. No big deal, we improvised by crossing the street and found some great areas with beautiful fall foliage to use for the pictures with their furry family. After we finished with the dogs we walked around the lake a little bit to finish up their romantic alone pictures. The leaves had just started to turn when we were up there and had that really pretty half green and half yellow look to them. This is such a cute little lake in the Colorado mountains. It’s definitely one of my favorite places up in the Estes park area.

Wonderful posing with their dogs – those have some of the most challenging sessions — and I do a lot of toddlers! How did did you get them to focus on you? I’ve even had an assistant with a tennis ball.
