elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado High School Senior Photography | Backyard Garden Portraits in Denver

October 4, 2015

Long before I was a photographer I was going to college and studying art. When I was in school I always did a lot of babysitting on the side to help pay the rent. This gorgeous gal featured in today’s blog post was one of the kids that I used to babysit. I’m just going to skip right over how old that makes me feel, haha. Bibi wanted something a little different than the typical all outdoor senior photos. Her aunt owns a house in Denver that is impeccably decorated and she was kind enough to share her home for Bibi’s senior photo shoot. We all really loved the pretty gold angel wings hanging on the wall so we made sure to get them in some of the photos. In fact, the blue of that whole little room was gorgeous and some of my favorite shots from the afternoon came from that space. We also got a few outdoor photos in the beautiful backyard garden to round out the session. Bibi is a natural beauty and it was very hard to narrow down the sneak peek since she looked so great in every shot! I think her humorous personality and confidence shines through in each of these. I also think her idea to do them at home really gave these portraits a natural lifestyle kind of feel to them.

I love the dramatic light and beautiful blue color of this photo.

Be sure to check out the SENIORS area of my site for more information about senior photos!
