elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Wedding Photography | Wedgewood on Boulder Creek

July 31, 2015

Katie & Clark’s wedding at the Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings was not just visually pretty (even though it really was) but full of incredibly sweet moments which is what I love the most about being a wedding photographer. It’s pretty awesome to pose my clients and create gogeous portraits, but really nothing beats the photojournalistic candid moments that happen on a wedding day. The fleeting moments of a loved one holding back tears or when a guest’s impromptu laughter spills forth. Those are the photos that are the most meaningful and keep me on my toes since they aren’t moments I can orchestrate for clients. They’re different at every wedding and these are the photos that make weddings my favorite thing to photograph. I think one of my favorite parts of Katie and Clark’s wedding was at the reception when their family and friends stood before the crowd to give their toasts and speeches. They were touching and funny. And filled with emotion as you’ll see from the photos below. When Clark’s brother fought to keep his emotion in check as he described what a hero Clark is to both him and his son it was just one of those moments that I know Katie and Clark will cherish forever.

I love how pretty and classic this one is!
