Snowy Winter Wedding in Colorado | The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge

March 19, 2015

Winter Wedding in Breckenridge

Today’s blog post features a beautiful, snowy winter wedding in Breckenridge. A little over a week ago I had the pleasure of driving up to the mountains of Colorado for Becky and Sean’s wedding at the Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge. That venue is an incredible place to host a wedding. They have a huge wooden deck with incredible views of the mountains and the ski slopes of Breckenridge Ski Resort. On the day of Becky and Sean’s wedding we were blessed with the kind of Colorado winter day that inspires out of towners to move here. Bright blue skies, huge piles of pretty snow all over the place, and warm sunshine hitting our faces. Most of their guests were friends and relatives visiting Colorado from out of state and I was happy for their sake that it was a week with nice weather and they could enjoy Colorado’s great outdoors. Becky’s dad told me he got to go skiing four times already that week and was planning to hit the slopes one more time the next day before leaving. As you can imagine, it was the kind of wedding where everyone got to enjoy time together before officially connecting their two families for the wedding celebration.

The boys prepped themselves in one of the big cabin houses on site at the Lodge and the gals had a bridal suite inside the hotel. Sean waited to see his bride until he was standing on the stage at the Agape Outpost and it was so moving to see the emotion on his face as she walked closer to him. Capturing people in love seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day (whether it’s at the actual ceremony or at a first look) is definitely one of my favorite parts of this job. The celebration continued at the Lodge and Spa with guests enjoying the spectacular view on the deck during cocktail hour. We even managed to fit in an adorable family photo of Becky, Sean, and their two cute Chihuahua dogs before heading on to the reception. It was a really fun day and another great wedding is in the books!

The photography of the rings in the Pine Cone is genius and complements the venue nicely. And what a beautiful couple. They’re going to be really happy with your photos.
