elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver Family Photographer | Winter Family Portraits Sloans Lake

December 18, 2014

I haven’t seen my old skating buddy Annia Late-her in a long time. It was such a treat to photographer her and her son Codie again. And this time she brought along her sister Chris and their family too. Such a great idea and just in time for Christmas presents. I just recently moved over to the west side of Denver. I’ve lived in Denver for 14 years now and feel like I’ve lived in almost all of the neighborhoods at this point. But I have mostly kept to the east side of I-25 so it’s been fun reacquainting myself with this area. The other day I went for a short jog around Sloans Lake and realized that it would actually be a pretty awesome photoshoot location since it has beautiful views of the mountains from one side and a pretty good view of downtown from the other. So I suggested it to Annia for her family photos and was pretty happy that she was on board with it for their photo location. The session was pretty short and sweet since we were photographing at mid-day this time and using our own light instead of working with just the late-day natural light. My favorite part was getting to see Codie again and getting a big ol’ hug from him. He is the sweetest!
