I have one more awesome mountain wedding to share with everyone from the 3 day wedding weekend. This time around we were up at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail for Moe and Alex’s big day. We started off at Antlers to get some prep photos and then the wedding party made their way up the hill on the Gondola to get some photos at the top of the mountain. We were both blessed and cursed up there. I say blessed because the light was beautiful and the rain held off for a decent amount of time for us to get a handful of gorgeous mountaintop photos. But the downside of all that beautiful light in the middle of the day meant the dark stormy clouds rolled in and along with them, the lightning. The resort folks stop the gondola until it’s far enough away to be safe. So we were stranded for a little while at the top of the mountain. Moe and Alex took it all in stride. Seems that this is turning in a family wedding tradition. There was another Dow wedding years ago where the wedding party was stranded on top of the mountain for hours while the wedding reception got going down below. Luckily we were able to get down the mountain, finish up the remaining formal photos, and get into place before the ceremony start time. Talk about lucky! Once again, I’d like to thank Erica Stackhouse for second shooting with me!
Moe & Alex,
What a kick ass wedding party you hosted! Hope you had the time of your lives:) Enjoy the sneak peek photos and I’ll be in touch with the rest just as soon as I get caught up with them!
Congratulations!

Just the gorgeous view from Moe’s hotel room. NBD!
Moe wore her grandmother’s garter (the soft blue one on the bottom). How cool is that?
On the gondola on our way to get some photos
Love the way Alex is looking at Moe as they wait for the Gondola to open up again.
Pretty sure the thunder was rolling in at this point!
Alex smiles at Moe as she makes her way down the aisle:)
Such a pretty place for a wedding
Top photo is the front of the Donovan Pavilion and the bottom is taken from the backside.
Look, they figured out a way to have Bear involved:)
That looks so yummy! Created by Foods of Vail
Look at this sweet bar! It has an ice luge!

Everyone wanted to dance with grandma:)
