Friday morning I woke up to a text from my sister asking me if G and I were ok. I thought that was very strange until I turned on my computer and saw the horrific news of the movie theater killings that took place in my city. With a heavy heart I prepped for the wedding I was to photograph up at Golden Gate Canyon State Park later in the morning. I pushed the morning’s events out of my mind and made my way up to the mountains with my handsome husband in tow.
You may be wondering why I would start off this blog post with a reminder of such an ugly news spectacle. Well here’s why; Charlotte and James’ quiet & intimate ceremony that took place that Friday morning is just one of probably thousands upon thousands of small, quiet, & beautiful love-filled acts that took place on that day all over Colorado and beyond. But most of us will never hear about these events. I guess I just wanted to remind those who read my blog to focus on all of the lovely & kind-hearted moments that happen in life. Our time here can be so short so make sure you’re focusing on the good and making the most of each day you are gifted!
So back to Charlotte and James:) These two lovebirds live in Golden and are very outdoorsy so it makes sense that they would celebrate their love on the side of a mountain with the sun shining and the birds singing. They chose to get married on a very special date. It just so happens that both of their parents were married on the 20th and they started dating 4 years ago to the date. Only their immediate families were present and each one of them were involved in the ceremony. On a small wooden deck on Panorama Point in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, they all said a few words of love for Charlotte and James and then created a circle of flowers around the pair. It was such a heartfelt ceremony and so perfect for the two of them. And before I forget, I have to give a shout out to Tracey Wilkinson who was the minister at their ceremony and led it very well! Charlotte & James,
It was so great to meet you and your families on your wedding day. Thank you for being so kind and feeding G and I. And thanks for putting up with his ridiculous jokes too:) I’m debating whether I should include the shot with his unique posing suggestion “Now see if you can fit her nose in your mouth.” Turned out pretty funny;)
I hope you enjoy the photos we got. I have many more to share and will get those to you soon!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
April (and G)
There is so much view at Panorama Point that you can’t fit it all into one frame.
Heehee, hiking boots making a debut.
Loved the detail on the back of Charlotte’s dress. So pretty and unique!
G insisted that I get a shot of the wildlife. Those chipmunks are fast. This was the best I could get!
How adorable are those? They got them from Etsy.com
Of course, I like to save my favorite for last:)
